Millthorpe started strongly enough with both Dave Crombie and Will Oldham having a decent crack with 22 and 31 runs respectively.
Once they both caught sight of the bails spinning across the verdant Molong pitch though, the Millthorpe side almost had a sense of deja-vu as the prospect of another Canowindra type walloping looked a distinct possibility.
IN OTHER SPORT:
Some tight bowling from Country's Trent Frazer with 3 for 22 kept Millthorpe frustrated and eventually after 36 overs they were all out for 110.
Once Country had strapped on the pads though and Millthorpe spun the red ball in the air, Country seemed to fall apart, for a while anyway.
Openers Frazer and Wykes were caught quickly off Peter Heller's fine bowling and once more Nigel Brazier had to face the fray.
He managed for only 37 runs before being caught and bowled by Pat Tree. Country kept the pressure on and were 4 for 80 needing only 30 runs with 6 wickets still in hand and still 11 overs left.
Then they cracked. Top offensive play by Millthorpe pushed the game to the final over where Country were all out for 107.
The grand final is between Canowindra and Millthorpe at Dr Ross Memorial Oval, Molong starting at 1pm.
