"I was doing pop-up shops but it was hard packing the clothes up and lugging them around all the time, risking damage to it all, so this way it's all set up and I have a change room."
With three daughters who each have their own likes and dislikes, selecting what stock to sell has been an advantage.
"It's really great to get input from them and cater for people of all ages," she said.
LITTLE TINGS
Looking for hours that are more family friendly is the incentive behind Liz Malcolm's Little Tings at 129A Adelaide Street.

"I have Gem Induztrie Jeans, local furniture, artworks, handbags and leather items that are from Australian farmers and artisans," she said.
GENERATION BUZZ
Known for her old cafe on Adelaide Street next door, Melissa Soo said that COVID-19 and an interest in indoor plants was what inspired her and partner Daniel Nixon's new indoor plants speciality shop.
"When we were in lockdown I began looking at what we could do and Daniel is into Bansai and indoor plants and we realised that there are very few indoor plant specialists around," she said.

"We have a rescue service where we will bring a plant back to life," she said.
