It's been ten years since the sound of a golf ball being hooked onto an adjacent fairway has been heard, but after a trial run on November 8, the Lyndhurst Golf Club is back in the swing of things.

After a decade of not being used, and the team-penning facilities added to the site, and loads of rain, everything was looking a touch overgrown.

Club member Ashley Clark said that the community showed great commitment in getting things spruced up.
"After ten years, the drought and now the rain, there was a lot of work that needed to be done," he said.
"Hoses need replacing, trees needed pruning, greens renovated and rebuilt and the fairways were brought back to their former state of glory."
The support on the opening day was fantastic, Clark said, with the Blayney Golf Club sending a busload of golfers keen to try their hand.
"A staggering 77 players registered for the Ambrose Comp, plus the menagerie of kids 'assisting' the teams," he said.
"We really appreciate the support of everyone who was involved."
Such was the success that the club is now open seven days a week, there is an honesty box located at the first tee ($5 per round for club members and non members.)
The clubhouse is open Friday evening 6pm until close, Sunday afternoon 5pm until close and Saturday opening for special events like birthday parties and functions.
