Thanks to Covid-19 restrictions though those visits have been stopped and the residents, as well as the kids, have been missing out on each other's company.
Activities Officer Karen Webster said that the residents of Lee Hostel have missed the interaction, smiling faces and the hugs and kisses that came with the visits, and that some personalised letters by the early learners really lifted their spirits.
"We were delighted to receive letters from the children, each individually address to a resident," she said.
"The next day whilst on the bus, we drove past the centre and the children all came out to wave and blow kisses to us."
Ms Webster hopes that it won't be too long before the visits return.
"We hope that at some stage this year we will be able to share some time together again," she said.
