As a worker in the mental health industry Emma tussled between her role and that of a showgirl, one of the few remaining traditional roles for young women.
"I work with a lot of young people who struggle to identify between either the masculine of feminine types, so I actually found it quite hard to decide about representing young people in a form that is traditionally very feminine," she said.

The deliberation process took Emma over a month, a time in which she had the opportunity to clarify here thoughts on the benefits of representing young rural and regional women and the struggles many have with mental health.
"This will give me a larger platform to start that conversation about mental health and well-being in rural areas," she said.
Emma is currently studying for a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at Bathurst CSU and plans on becoming an Exercise Physiologist.
