Despite the patchy pattern of rainfall across the district this month, everywhere seems to have had enough to bring at least some green back into our scenery. And what a spirit-lifting sight that is. Some 40mm for the village, and surrounding farms receiving twice or three times that much in capricious storms, has helped.

Millthorpe CWA Major Fundraiser for Renovations: The Millthorpe CWA building, in its prime location on Pym Street, is a valuable asset to the village, used not only by the CWA, but by several bodies, for meetings and events. However, like people, buildings need a bit of maintenance as they age, and the CWA building is overdue for major renovations to its amenities, along with a bit of a facelift. Various fundraising initiatives are underway, notably an upcoming event at the Golden Memories Museum in Millthorpe, titled, Yesteryear (Collectables) of Yesterday's Memories, to be held Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, Mach 8, from 10am to 4pm. The $10 entry fee includes the opportunity to view all of the museum's exhibitions at your leisure, and morning and afternoon tea will be available for $5. Enquiries can be made to: Iris Knowles (0402106213) and Dawn Mobbs (0428673205).

Art on Pym Goes Galvanised: With changes afoot for one of the premises at 9 Pym Street (more about that later...), Art of Pym has packed up easels and frames and moved a few doors down the street to the iconic galvanised shed. This large and unique space is well-suited to provide a venue for seventeen local and regional artists. Opening hours are currently Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 11am til 2pm in the lead up to the grand opening on Friday 13th March from 5.30pm, complete with bubbles & nibbles.
