After a slow start where they received only $29 for their first six fleeces, the pair have taken over the control of their means of production and process, dye and spin the yarn themselves.

Usually when they attend one of the many markets around the central west selling wool and products made under their Kyona Alpaca label, they may sell just one or two of their colourful needlecraft bears.
Thanks though to a Facebook page called 'One Day Closer to Rain' the sales of their bears, and other items such as their scarves, have exploded.
"I attended a shopping regional workshop in Orange only two weeks ago and they had a couple of Facebook sessions and I decided that I may as well have a go at posting on one and seeing what would happen," Mrs McKenna said.
Once she had taken a few photos of the scarves, bears and yarn, written up a description and then had them approved on the page, the magic began to happen.
"My phone never stopped pinging with all these sales and enquiries about what we were selling," Mrs McKenna said, "It was amazing."
So far they've sold 23 bears and are working hard to produce more to meet demand.
