The mercury is predicted to soar to well above above average temperatures and, with the ongoing drought conditions, NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters are concerned.
The very high fire danger rating is in place for the following council areas: Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Lithgow, Mid-Western, Oberon and Orange.

- Bathurst 4-22 degrees
- Blayney 5-19 degrees
- Cowra 4-24 degrees
- Lithgow 5-20 degrees
- Mudgee 4-26 degrees
- Oberon 3-23 degrees
- Orange 5-19 degrees
Residents in this area are urged to review their Bushfire Survival Plan with their family. Keep yourself informed and monitor conditions. Be ready to act if necessary.
There have already been a number of out-of-control fires in this region during the past few weeks including a fire that burnt through a vineyard at Mudgee and escaped control burns lit by property owners around Bathurst and Lithgow.
