U6 Warriors
We experienced a very fast paced game today with all our players showing strong determination. Cody and Riley were excellent in attack working with each other to move the ball up the field. Jaxon showed fantastic footwork running the ball up the field, never giving up the chase. Maddi and Charlie worked well in defence with Charlie's quick thinking tactics earning him player of the match. Well done u/6 Warriors i am so proud of the sportsmanship that you displayed today, your consistent effort and encouragement towards each other is great to see and be a part of. Also Thanks to all spectators for your support.

U7Jaguars
Today Jack impressed the jaguars crowd in defence , kicking balls sideways away from the goals but also venturing up the field Charlie got in the thick of it , harassing the ball , doing some nifty trick shots and scoring one of jaguars goals Asher also defended blayneys goals , moved the ball up the field and scored jaguars second goal.Georgia had a spring in her step this week , chasing down the ball , turning them around and passing them on , she called out support and performed some well aimed strong kicks. All these skills earned Georgia the player of the week medal.
U8 Phoenix
U8 Phoenix played a fast and physical game against Waratah Nashdale, going down 1-0. The team played a super game and are really improving their ball running.Player of the week is Taylor who ran her heart out, tackled hard, took some hard tackles but kept on going. Great game Taylor!
U8 Wildcats
Blayney Wildcats played against Waratah Titans today a great game was had. The Titans shared a couple of their players today so all the children were on the field. Great defence with Garth, Johnny, Lachie, Paige and Carter taking turns kicking to one another and getting the ball out to run up the field. Cody and Johnny were the goal keepers and did well stopping quite a few balls getting in. Well done Wildcats. Player of the day was Garth.
Under 8 Phoenix
Today the Phoenix took on a talented Waratahs side with both teams keen after having a week off.. Myles started in goals but had little to do with Digby Lachie and Beau forming a formidable backline.. Lilly today was every where and made some great passes. Tayla had her best game of the year attacking the Waratahs goal relentlessly.. Ollie has come back to the team like he was never away with his never give up attitude and his determination. It was an entertaining end to end game and this little team never give up fighting right to the final whistle..It is a pleasure to be involved with these kids and they never disappoint with great sportsmanship and there great attitude win lose or draw.
U9 Spirit
First half Casey was in goals with Archer and Lilly up the back, Karter and Hamish were in mid and Chevy and Georgie up front with Andre as sub.Spirits started out strong, with Chevy running the ball up the field and he seemed to let go and have fun playing again after his long stint off the field.
Our always consistent Georgie, was always in there never giving Cudal room to move. Karter who is such a changed player now, was confident and got in there attacking the ball and found a great partner in Hamish, who had magic boots on this week, his kicks went straight through the Cudal defence and always found a team mate. Archer doesn't like being up the back, but gee he is great at it, he puts his body on the line in every way and always puts in 110 per cent every week and Lilly our little pocket rocket, was just amazing in defence, getting the ball away from the goals.
Andre came on and tried to turn the tide, but Cudal were up 2-0 at half time.Blayney was certainly a different team in the 2nd half with Andre getting a brilliant goal just past half way and 5 mins later Casey slipped and scored his very 1st goal of the season and not long after that Hamish got his 1st goal of the season with his magic boots, I've never seen this little team come together and lift like they did, such an amazing thing to watch. Thank you so much Geoff, you were amazing and you taught the kids so much. Some local kids also went to a gala day on Sunday.
BLAYNEY GRAND FINALISTS IN LITHGOW GALA DAY
On a beautiful Sunday morning a combination team of Blayney Junior Soccer travelled to Lithgow to play the popular 7v7 Gala Day.
With a selection of players out of u10, u11 and u12, Blayney set the bar high by entering in the u12 age group and when they stepped onto the field for their first game some might have wondered if we were going to get any sort of results here today with the opposition towering over our players.
But Blayney surprised everyone by winning all of their group games and thus qualifying for the grand final in the afternoon!
The final was played against a slick Bathurst team which got the better of the Blayney squad but they gave it their all until the final whistle, and finished the day extremely proud of their efforts, and rightly so!Blayney was drawn in a group against unknown teams, and without any expectations the first game was played against Blackheath Green.
The Blackheath players seemed to scratch themselves behind the ears a few times when they saw what they were up against, as they were all at least a head taller than most Blayney players.
But once the game started Blayney soon got the better of them with crisp passing, positioning and great attacking, leaving the opposition baffled. Angus and Spencer were like liquid and one of their combinations setup a quick counter attack.
Angus crossed in hard and Matthew finished it off on the volley. In the second half Blackheath pushed hard to avoid defeat but the Blayney defence was tight and Nate was outstanding in the goal, rattling out a few certain goals.
Despite a nail-biting finish to the match, Blayney held on to the narrowest of margins and recorded their first win of the day.Second up was the team of LCR Black who played in front of their home-crowd.
A good side, but no match for Blayney who were now on a mission and cut loose. All their goals came from great passing setups. Two from Angus and two from Matthew put the game quickly out of reach of LCR.
Nate was strong in goal again and Diesel controlled every loose ball as if he has been doing it for years. Sarah in front of Diesel was the start of many attacks and most of the Blayney threat came from the wings.
Spencer on the left was everywhere and showed his opponents his heels time after time. From one of his many breaks he scored a cracking goal whilst Hugo on the left wing played outstanding throughout the day with his trademark aggressive ball capturing. Neo was the conductor in midfield, attacked where he could and got his reward when he flicked home a corner kick by Spencer right on the full-time hooter.
In the final match of the group Blayney played Workies White. In the knowledge that winning this game would secure their spot in the Grand Final, Blayney initially gained the upper hand when Neo scored with a great shot outside the box.
Workies answer came swift with a strong equalising goal and for a moment it looked as if Blayney had a massive task at hand. But soon the passing game took the upper hand again.
Diesel from the back played a no-nonsense game. Sarah pushed up to midfield which allowed Matthew and Angus to play an all-out attacking game.
The wingers Hugo, Neo and Spencer once again pivotal in feeding the attack with the necessary passes and it wasn't long before the floodgates opened.
Angus hit the target no less than four times, Matthew added another two and Hugo put the cherry on the cake at the end of the match with the best goal of the day, setup by Spencer who seemed unstoppable on the right-wing. Spencer broke through and delivered a perfect high cross for Hugo to volley home.
And what had seemed unlikely at the start of the day, Blayney had made it all the way into the Grand Final! The Grand Final, delayed by a ref that was held-up, ultimately became a prey for a slick Bathurst side named Maquarie United.
With a team that has been playing together for a number of years now they pushed the Blayney defence hard and quickly got the upper hand. Still a lot of positives were to be noted. Midway through the game Blayney found some rhythm and managed to shake up the Maquarie defence.
Nate in goal was unlucky with his resets but as a ball-stopper he kept out many attempts at his goal, throwing his body on the line and even coming agonisingly close to stopping a spot-kick! Diesel played strong again as sweeper and definitely let the opposition know he was there.
Sarah played a very solid game in midfield and finished the second half off as striker, almost breaking through a few times. Matthew netted two in the final and Angus was a constant threat to the Maquarie backline.
Hugo held his own again in a tough final, as did Neo who gave it everything he had. Spencer never gave up trying to break through on his wing and did so on many occasions. Overall it was a fantastic day with a fantastic result in front of an excited Blayney crowd.
At the presentation Blayney got praised for their efforts and received the well-deserved runners-up trophies. A great effort for a team that has only just been thrown together and stepped onto the field without any expectations. Well done everyone!
