Once again, the highly effective collaboration between Orange 360 and the Millthorpe Village Committee produced a stellar event on a fine winter's evening upon which stars fittingly shone.

Congratulations to the 40 plus volunteers who helped set-up and run the event, and thanks to the more than 4000 visitors who came to enjoy the evening and support the village.

Generous sponsors included A-Blaze Firewood, Silmac Farm Supplies, and Regis.

Music by Smith and Jones and Friday Night Live entertained the ears while the 12 local stalls, providing a great range of food and beverages, catered for the bodies.

The crowning event was the spectacular fireworks display just after 7pm, lasting for an extraordinary ten minutes, a truly creative and inspiring display.

Thanks to the Kostoglous family for the use of their hillside as the fireworks base.

Mid-morning last Friday a male P-plate driver, heading towards Blayney on Park Street, managed to ram into a John Wilby's car, parked near the Post Office.

The impact pushed his car into another parked car then speared it into the front of a house.

Fortunately neither parked car were occupied, particularly as a veranda- post of the house broke off, impaling the car through the windscreen, right where John would have been seated.

His much-loved vehicle was a write-off.

After many years as the School Crossing volunteer, manning the Park Street pedestrian crossing at Millthorpe Public School in all seasons and all weathers, Reg Brown has retired.

Reg was warmly thanked and farewelled by all the school last Friday.

One parent noted that; "Reg got the biggest cheers from the whole school this afternoon."
