Riley and Charlie ran well through the middle encouraging Jaxson and Cody to provide support in taking the ball up the field.
Maddie showed strong defence earning her player of the week. Warriors Player Of the week Maddie Matheson
Under 7
Saturday, July 27 saw the under 7 Jaguars verse the Warratah Ninjas at Blayney. Teamwork was in the air when in the opening seconds of the game Asher and Charlie dribbled the ball towards the jaguars goal passing to each other and Asher scoring a goal.
Another time Patrick got the ball up to the ninjas end, got surrounded but still managed to pass the ball onto Charlie in front of the goals who found the back of the net.
Georgia was instrumental in the centres, stealing the ball and charging up the field , evading the ever present opposition.
Jai , enthusiastic as always was keen to kick off or start the play of ball, he would a knowledge teammates and give warning when kicking in.
Jai scored a very impressive goal, the crowd really getting behind him and was a very good sport, apologising when bumping into someone.
All these qualities earned Jai the player of the week medal.
Under 8 Wildcats
Wow a great game sat by the Wildcats although we didn't score the kids had a great game, never giving up.
We had some extra helpers from Phoenix, thanks kids.
Great job by Garth and Cody as goal keepers they were both able to save quite a few goals getting in.
I was impressed with the Wildcats energy and keeping up right through the game, well done. Player of the day went to Carter.
Thanks everyone for a great game till next week. Wildcats Player Of the week Carter Barry
Under 8 Phoenix
On a fine Saturday morning the Phoenix took on a talented Barnies side.
It was an even first half with Digby starting in goal and was supported by Myles playing a sweeping role.
Beau and Lachie playing back either side and making it difficult for the Barnies attackers.
Lilly held the middle ground with determination and made some handy tackles. Rhys and Tayla playing up front.
It was a very tight game going from one end to the other. As the Phoenix began to tire Barnies scored a late goal but the Phoenix pushed right until the final whistle but just couldn't equalise.
Both teams should be applauded on an outstanding game especially for the sportmanship and skill showed in the game. Myles was awarded player of the match for his outstanding defence playing his best game of the year..
Under 9 Spirit
The first half Andre was in goals with Archer and Casey up the back in defence, our A team Lilly and Georgie were in mid and Hamish and Karter were up front.
Blayney kicked off and the Lions pounced, but Blayney was ready for them.
Hamish and Karter tried hard not to give the lions any breathing room and Lilly, having no fear got right in there fighting for the ball and our ever reliable Georgie was everywhere she was needed to be.
Archer and Casey were a brick wall in defence that the Lions only broke through a few times but Andre was there and brilliantly saved a couple of goals.
Second half it was still nil all, Lilly was in goals with Karter and Hamish up the back, Casey and Andre in mid and Archer and Georgie up front and Digby came in as sub and he brought a new fire to Blayney.
Lions kicked off and tried hard to get into Blayney's half, but Digby got the ball up the side and passed in the middle for Andre and Andre hit the back of the net for Spirits first goal.
Georgie had a some fantastic runs and I really thought she was going to get her first goal but the Lions defence stopped her. Player of the week went to Archer Beddie
Under 11 Blayney Glory
Harley in goals, a more than solid back line of Nate and Diesel, flanked by Jayden and Stirling.
The midfield consisting of Matthew and Aiden Burns with Linkon and Aidan Hunter on the flanks saw the Millthorpe defenders somewhat confused; Glory had no striker.
Spencer, and later Liv, joined the crew to fill in where needed and Millthorpe kicked off.
And in the first fifteen minutes of the game, try as they might, they could not find a way through this tight Glory defence.
Harley was back to his old self in the goal and showed why he is still Glory's number one goalkeeper with magnificent saves, rattling quite a few balls out of the goal and generally organising the play right in front of him.
The defending block of Diesel and Nate held the centre under control whilst Jayden and Stirling had the wings covered.
In midfield the wing attackers Linkon on the left and Aidan Hunter on the right had a number of threatening breaks, launched by the wing backs, allowing the centre mids Matthew and Aiden Burns to push up and make a couple of breaks
The second half was quite an entertaining spectacle. Aidan Hunter made his familiar switch with Harley who took his spot in midfield.
Aidan, now a comfortable goalie, had a couple of nice saves and is generally very reliable with the loose balls.
Diesel, who seemed to have found his position as centre back, played a wonderful sweeper game and cleaned up countless Millthorpe attacks. Diesel played by far his best game of the season.
Spencer, playing as right back for most of the game when he was on, also managed to launch quite a number of attacks with splitting passes.
Liv subbed on in the second half and shook the game up with her usual spice. Jayden, more than once pivotal in switching defence to attack, played a solid game. Harley Whiting got player of the week.
