The project will enable community members to grow edible and healthy vegetables and fruits with surplus supplies being shared with other growers or sold through the local Rotary Farmers Market each month.
President Ian Tooke said that the project will encourage outdoor and healthy lifestyles for community members.
"This will help develop a common sense of purpose in sharing resources and skills for the benefit of all involved," he said.
The project will include raised garden beds, ample tools and an automatic watering system.
"We'll be using local suppliers where possible," Mr Tooke said.
