Lee Hostel's new gardening club are braving the elements and tending to their plants in comfort this year thanks to a generous donation from Bunnings in Orange.

The hardware giant has donated new planter boxes which are making it easier for some of the residents who have always enjoyed gardening, but have found tending to the permanent garden beds difficult.

Activities Officer Karen Webster said that as the weather warms up they were sure it is going to be a popular hang out for all.

"We are aiming to beautify the outdoor area outside the pink room, so residents want to use the space and enjoy the green space," she said.

"It will also enable residents to continue to enjoy being in the garden even when they can no longer reach the ground."
