Blayney Panthers u7 played Millthorpe roar on Saturday on our home ground. The boys had a cracking game. Hayden made is presence felt early with the backing of Ned. Toby held the back well and Gus had a huge impact putting the pressure on against the opposition.
Patrick came on late but he was straight into the field and making up for lost time. It's fantastic to see the boys playing as a team and we are very proud of them! This week the player of the week went to Gus! As the youngest player on our team, he is sure not holding back!
Today we saw the u7 Jaguars versus Millthorpe Stripes at Blayney. Jack started off the game with a huge kick, giving his teammates something to chase after and he followed the ball the whole game. Patricks team work payed off, when he passed onto Charlie , who set up the goal and Pat tapped it in.
Jai also had a great game scoring himself a goal and a combined effort with Pat , they both ran towards the ball and like a three legged race both kicked it in the goal. Asher again ran from end to end, he showed some nifty footwork and had many attempts at goal.
Charlie was a good sport as always, listening to instructions, passing the ball, and evaded the opposition and was also very selfless when near the goals , for these qualities Charlie earned herself the player of the week .

Under 8s Wildcats played an action packed game. Great defending from all the players, Cooper, Digby, Carter and Miles made some great passes running the ball up the field, while Johnny, Garth and Paige were in amongst the ball kicking it out to the others.
An awesome job by both our goalkeepers Paige and Cooper stopping quite a few balls getting in, well done. Thanks to Miles and Digby for playing today and helping us out. Player of the day went to Cooper for doing such an awesome job as goalkeeper. Thanks for a great day Wildcats.
Under 8 Phoenix versus Cyms. It was a new look team today with our little rocket Ollie away and with Cooper and Garth stepping in from the Wildcats..
Beau bounced back from illness and chased and tackled his heart out. Myles started in goal but the defence made his job easy constantly turning away the Cyms attack.. Lachie filled the centre back role and pushed the Cyms attackers to the sideline and cut them down with some nice slide tackles.
Lilly had a great game and the more she involves herself the more she improves with some great tackling and passing.
Tayla again caused havoc up front with her never give up attitude scoring another two nice goals and definitely letting the boys know she is not to be messed with. Digby played another controlled game scoring a goal and directing play from the middle and unleashing our attack with some lovely long passes.
Rhys led our attack up front and looked certain to score but the goal keeper pulled off a great save. Cooper chased his heart out after already playing a full game and showed some classy touches and nice runs.
Garth was in the wars carrying some injuries but he had a great game chasing hard and tackling hard. Myles played in the backs in the second half and made some nice tackles defending our goal. Lachie also played goalkeeper and made some nice saves. Rhys who has been close in recent weeks was awarded player of the week for his great effort.

Blayney Spirits under 9s played Waratah Braves on Saturday at home in what felt like 60km winds. Despite the blistering weather Spirits had a blinder.
First half Lilly volunteered to be first sub, because Waratahs only had six players. Georgie was in goals with Andre and Hamish up the back, Archer and Karter in mid and Casey was up front.
Spirits spent most of the half in Waratahs half, but just couldn't get that elusive goal. The attack from everyone was stupendous they never gave Waratahs any breathing room. The very few times Waratahs got to Georgie, she confidently came out of goals to gather the ball and made some awesome kicks down the field.
Archer played half the first half with a broken shoe but had such determination he didn't want to stop, he was instrumental in keeping the Waratahs at bay, Casey and Karter were extraordinary in attack and chased down every ball and made some promising breaks.
Lilly came on from sub and every time she touched the ball it was magic. Hamish and Andre were incredible in defence they both, protected the goal and Georgie and both made fantastic clearing kicks down the field.
Second half Lilly was in goal and Casey and Karter were up the back with her, Archer, with his new boots, was in mid and Georgie and Andre were up front. Hamish was first sub.
Second half was pretty much the same as the first, Spirits played most of the game in Waratahs half, there were many heartbreaking close calls but no goals. Andre made some awesome breaks with the ever dependable Georgie by his side.
Lilly made some great saves backing up with some awesome kicks down the field. Casey and Karter were unreal in defence, until Karter got a ball in the face and had to go off the field.
Hamish stepped in and made such a difference passing to his team mates and getting the ball up the field. Archer with his new awesome boots, was lightning fast getting in there and making some great breaks. There were no goals scored by either team, it was a very hard played game.
Player of the game went to Lilly, for her magic feet and hands.

After three weeks break from the soccer field, Blayney Roar were hungry for a game of soccer when they played the formidable Waratahs at Blayney Showground.
The play moved up and down the field with both teams having a lot of shots at goal. Our goalkeepers, Cameron in the first half and Spencer in the second half, were kept busy with both boys doing some great saves meaning the Waratahs remained scoreless for the game. Great job Cameron and Spencer!
Roar took their chances with some accurate passing between Emma, Spencer, James and Angus who were up front in the first half and scored some great team goals. Olivia and Dray worked well in defence to cut down any opponents who were hovering in attack. Emma was solid along the sideline and James was looking around to feed the ball to his players in goal.
Elijah and Maggie worked tirelessly in the midfield to feed the ball back to their Roar players waiting in the forwards.Cameron worked the ball well upfield and crossed the ball into the goal square too.
The second half switch around saw Cameron, Dray, Elijah and Olivia up the front being fuelled by Olivia's 'never give up' attitude. The game saw goals being scored by Dray, Spencer and Angus with Dray earning the player of the week medal.Well Done Dray! Thanks to our coach Brad for a great term of soccer.
The Roar players have gained some great team skills under your guidance and they are always keen to run onto the field! Have a great holiday everyone!

Blayney Glory u11 played Waratah Rebels, in Blayney. The well-drilled Orange side have a very unorthodox approach by parking two tall defenders right in front of their goalie box. They stay there the entire match simply booting away anything that comes their way. With two fast and skilful attackers at the other end Waratah gave the Glory all sorts of trouble from the word go.
Nate in fullback did what he could but could not prevent Rebels slicing through the defence a number of times. Caleb and Stirling guarded the wings as usual but the slick passing of Rebels caught them out time after time. In midfield the wing attack of Diesel and Jayden spent most of their time helping the defence out.
The attacking force of Aiden Burns in midfield with Matthew and Aidan Hunter up front had a tough old time creating any sort of goal scoring opportunity with that defensive block in front of them, and Rebels comfortably took a big lead into halftime.
And coincidental or not, just as they've shown in the past few weeks, the second half saw a completely different Glory team step onto the field and take the contest right to the Rebels. The only change again was Aidan Hunter taking the gloves from Harley to be in goals in second half. And with those now familiar cat-like reflexes Aidan kept out at least half a dozen of shots which kept Glory in the contest for most of the half. With calm reset play Aidan also setup Nate to start the attack.
Matthew dropped a bit deeper to collect the ball to feed the strikers. And when Liv stepped onto the field to fill in, the contest completely turned onto its head.
Matthew chipped in a long-range shot over the goalie, Liv scored Glory's second goal with a nifty deflection that completely wrong-footed the goalkeeper and Matthew curved in number three. Stirling put his mind into gear and had a couple of great clearances.
Caleb positioned well and stayed calm under pressure which allowed Nate to build up play a lot more comfortable from the back. Diesel who was so focussed on Rebels fast forwards at first, started to push the attack over the right wing a lot harder and Jayden on the other wing gave it everything he had putting pressure on the runners.
Aiden Burns again ran his legs of and simply pops up everywhere, creating chaos in enemy territory and setting up goal scoring opportunities. Harley played striker and had a much better second half, swerving through the defenders a couple of times.
And with Liv proving she is a Glory player at heart, the team clawed their way back into the contest. When Matthew almost curved in a corner kick for Glory's fourth, they were agonisingly close to closing the gap on Rebels first half .
Player of the week went to Olivia Dowsett.

Blayney Lions were up against the top placed team, Waratah Mariners. The Lions had a strong wind advantage in the first half and used it well keeping the ball in their half early without reward.
When the ball went into the back half the Lions were rock solid with their defence pumping the ball forward to create a number of attacks. It wasn't until mid-way through the first half that the Lions broke through with their first goal from the centre forward, Kade Franze, after some good vision and passing by a number of players at the top of the box.
This opened the gates for the Lions to control play through the impressive midfielders Braeden Priest, Riley Blake, Hugo Cook, Neo Paton and Sarah De Pijper who were running end to end applying relentless pressure.
This led to two goals to centre forward Brayden "Ronaldo" Mawbey who decided to put on some solo performances of brilliance. The continued forward pressure also resulted in a penalty for a handball that was impressively finished by Sarah De Pijper.
At halftime Coach Wilson swung a change with Levi Dickie, after some impressive saves in goal, being moved into the midfield for Braeden Preist who proved to be stoic and showed off his versatility as a first time goalie. The second half, being against the wind, saw the backline under intense pressure with the Mariners scoring 2 quick goals.
The backline of Jayden Dobson, Leyton Cockburn, Emily Priest and Liam Davis responded rapidly to continue their impressive first half form with some strong arm play keeping the Mariners at bay despite conceding at least five more corner kicks in the game.
A great build up from some combination play between the backs and midfield saw a great through ball result with Brayden Mawbey scoring his third goal.
The Mariners managed to pare back a goal late however the Lions had stood tall and were rewarded for their improved team play and constant pressure.
Final score: 5 - 3. goals scorers: Brayden Mawbey 3; Kade Franze and Sarah De Pijper 1. Player of the week: Hugo Cook
Forbes Carnival
Today Olivia, Jess, Jaime, Emma, Tui, Maggie, Hannah, Georgie, Liv, Lucy, Lilly and Amelia travelled to Forbes to play in the Gala Day.
This was the first time the girls have played together and they got better each game. The first game saw the girls find their feet and work together as a new formed team. The second game the girls improved with all girls giving it their all.
The third game saw our only win for the day with great passing and working as a team finding space. They really looked good and like they had played all year together.
Our next game the girls were feeling it but managed to come away with our second draw for the day. Hannah, Maggie, Jaime, Lilly and Lucy were great in defence.
Olivia and Liv along with Emma, Jess, Tui and Georgie played well in attack. Amelia did a great job in goals but most importantly the girls all had fun. We went down in the fifth game to the top team but put up a really good fight and had the opposition thinking.
We missed the semis by 1 point but I am not sure the girls could have played anymore. They all played hard and demonstrated they will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
