Whilst new data shows that the number of motor vehicles being stolen in the Central West is increasing, Blayney though has seen a reduction in those crimes, but has witnessed an increase in non-domestic related violence.

The NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research's latest report shows figures for 17 major crime categories in the Central West for the 12 months to March 2019.
Compared to the 12 months up to March 2018 when Blayney saw 21 incidences of this crime, in 2019 that number had jumped to 30.
Domestic violence related crime has seen a similar change, but it's in a downward trend with a reduction from 37 cases to March 2018 down to 21.

The other encouraging figures are those to do with sexual and indecent assaults.
In the 12 months to March 2018 there were 7 cases of sexual assault and 13 of indecent assault, act of indecency and other sexual offences.
Up to March 2019 there were 5 cases and 9 cases respectively.
Unfortunately it's in the field of break and enters, both dwellings and non-dwellings, that have seen a noticeable increase in rates.
Break and enter dwellings has increased from 19 to March 2018 to 39 up to March 2019.
In non-dwellings that has increased from 15 cases up to 22 over the same time-frame.
Car thefts bucked the regional trend with a reduction from 12 to 9, and it seems we've got the message about locking our cars with a decrease from 27 for the crime of steal from a car down to 17 in 2019.
However our shopkeepers haven't been so lucky with the crime of steal from a retail store up from 3 to 7.
We may be locking our cars, but we're also leaving our doors wide open with steal from a dwelling up from 8 cases up to March 2018 to 14 cases in the 12 months to March 2019.
Those annoying scammers though are scoring more successes with fraud cases in Blayney rising from 11 cases in 2018 up to 25 in 2019.
There were no murders, robbery with a firearm or steal from a person cases.
