Roads and Maritime Services will carry out a safety upgrade on the Mitchell Highway near the Garveys Lane intersection, about 30 kilometres east of Orange.
This work includes widening a one kilometre section of the highway and installing flexible safety barriers along the centre and edges of the road.

Work will be carried out between 7am-6pm weekdays until July 26, weather permitting.
While work is being carried out, lane widths will be reduced to three metres and shoulder widths to 50 centimetres with temporary barriers to be installed on the highway for the safety of workers and motorists.
Roads and Maritime Services have advised motorists to follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
