“I’ve worked in a huge variety of photographic industries all around Australia,” she said.
“From North Queensland to Victoria I’ve covered underwater photography, travel, studio work and at a newspaper in Shepparton and also at the Central Western Daily in Orange.”
Kelly has been operating from home in Blayney for the past four years and her new studio in Adelaide Street is all geared up for her new adventure.
“Families, kids, couples, pregnancy, new born and solo sessions can all be done here in the studio and I also take photos out on location as well,” she said.
Rainbow images is open Wed and Thurs 9-5 and Fri, Sat, Sunday by appointment.
Penguin waddles into town
Owners Troy Wooldridge and chef Mic Garrity are in the process of transforming the former Kingfisher Cafe into the Penguin a la Carte Restaurant and Takeaway.
Mr Wooldridge is only new to Blayney and has made the tree-change to open the venture with his family.
The extensive takeaway menu includes the standards of burgers and fish and chips, but Mr Garrity said that there’s a wondrous new creation that should help in his drive to get better food happening in Blayney.
“They’re called ‘Crispy Little Weird Doughs’ and they’re an alternative to pizzas,” he said. “It’s dough done differently.”
In the restaurant Mr Garrity is serving up some more delights including Chicken Macadamia, Whole Baby Snapper and Veal Saltimbocca.
Penguins is open Tuesday to Sunday – Noon to 9pm.
The Old Mill wins
It’s always been a popular place to eat and now The Old Mill in Millthorpe has had their hard work recognised with a Reader’s Choice Award from the Australian Good Food Guide.
Owner Danielle Skerman said it was just nice to be recognised for the hard work that the team puts in.
“It’s really nice to be acknowledged for what we are doing here, it really means something that people have taken the time to vote for us,” she said.
They’re not resting on their laurels either, they’ve recently introduced a few more tasty treats for everyone to enjoy.
“We have a new pastry chef that has started with us and is making some delicious croissants and pastries,” Danielle said.
The Old Mill is open Thurs – Mon 9am to 4pm.
