Blayney took on an eerie orange hue late on Tuesday as a dust storm, whipped up by winds of up to 80 km/h, swept through town.

Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke said while a strong front passing through parts of NSW has helped pick up the dust and move it across the region, not all dust is from our state.

“The origin of this dust, well some of it’s come form the north-east of South Australia that’s where it’s started, but it’s picked up more from NSW.” he said.
