In the past week, the sight of a tall mobile crane on the Glenorrie Road side of the track was a novelty for the village, as the heavy steel components were lifted into place.
Millfest
The very popular Millfest took place along on Saturday 8 December Pym Street. With an estimated 2500 people attending, this street festival continues to grow.
This popularity is in no small part due to the excellent organisation of the event, the extensive role of the many volunteers and the gearing of the attractions to appeal to all ages.
The live music, a great range of food and refreshment stalls, and the village shops joining a range of stalls, including many with Christmas themes, provided plenty of choice.
The performances by the students of Millthorpe Public School were a standout.
A Special Thank You
Millthorpe CWA Branch would like to thank the organisers of 2018 Millthorpe Millfest for yet another successful function.
The Millthorpe CWA Branch’s raffle of a large basket of delicious Christmas fare was won by Jenny Western and the special homemade Christmas cake was won by Mary Grace.
A warm thank you to everyone for their generosity, and huge congratulations to the organisers for a wonderful event.
