The Blayney Farmers’ Market is back, and with it now being hosted by Blayney Rotary, there’s a real hum happening about its return.

Kicking off at 9 am in Carrington Park, the markets will see the return of regulars such as the Pitt and George Food Company with their gourmet sausage rolls and breads, Paling Yards with their olive oils, Bell River Estate with their fortifieds, Cobbler’s Rest with their real honey, and Bob and Ruth with their popular Condo oranges.

Relative newcomers to the markets, the Salami Man and Franklin Road Preserves will be back with their delectable tables of locally produced foods.

There will also be local sweet treats from Dapper chocolates, treats for your dogs from Pamper Paws, coffee from Nellie Ryan’s and some top shaving products from Whispers from the Woods.

One of the most popular stalls at the markets is Farmer Doug’s Gourmet Potatoes.

Doug Dagg has been selling his spuds for four years at the markets and he is back again with some wonderful produce.

Forget the Sebago, Farmer Doug has a myriad of interesting varieties that take the spud lovers amongst us on a tasting tour around the world.

The varieties he will have this week include,

Jacklyn - great for roasting, baking, chips, wedges and gnocchi.

Elizabeth’s Choice - with its pure white flesh and thin skin it is excellent for baking, boiling and mashing.

Midnight Pearl - a Peruvian potato, purple in colour and full of antioxidants - bake, boil or mash.
