Well below average rainfall has been recorded across the region so far this year.
Orange received the most rain with 19.4mm recorded up until 7am on Friday, this was followed by Mudgee where 15.8mm fell.
Rain also fell in Bathurst with 13.4mm and Parkes received 9.4mm.
Lighter fall was recorded elsewhere including Young (7.6mm), Dubbo (5.4mm), Cowra (3.4mm) and Forbes (3mm).
There is the chance of follow-up rainfall on Friday for many locations across the region, while some will receive light falls on Saturday.
Mudgee is predicted to receive up to 25mm of rain across the two days, while 15mm is predicted in Orange and Lithgow, and Oberon should receive 10mm.
Some locations will receive rain on Friday, including: Blayney (10mm), Bathurst (5mm), Cowra (5mm), Parkes (5mm), Wellington (5mm).
There is a chance of less than 1mm of rain falling at Forbes, Grenfell and Nyngan.
