Details of the design of a $1 million upgrade have emerged ahead of it being shown to a public meeting later this month.
Passenger trains are due to commence stopping at Millthorpe station from early next year once the work is completed.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the features of the design included a platform extension with a moveable ramp for train staff to use for people with accessibility issues.
A new platform, about 15 metres-long, will provide seating, extra lighting, an information board, tactile indicators and a help point.
“The platform extension will be a lightweight construction and will be installed parallel to the existing heritage platform,” he said.
“We are also looking to relocate the Millthorpe station sign onto the new platform and install timber palings on the platform extension to match the existing look and feel of the station.”
The public will be able to discuss the proposed design at a workshop on Wednesday, July 25 from 5pm-7pm at the Millthorpe Golden Memories Museum at 37 Park Street.

It is intended the station will be used on-request to pick up and drop off passengers.
Mr Toole said Transport for NSW had developed the design after working with heritage advisers and architects, engineers and conducting geotechnical investigations.
