Decorated in a French theme, with references to the Tour de France, by florist Melise Hutchings, the hall was totally transformed and a number of members got into the spirit by wearing berets. Proceedings were run very smoothly by MC Elizabeth Russ.
The Incoming President Lyn May was inducted by Outgoing President Patti Crofts, and Lyn introduced her Committee for the coming year –
Immediate Past President Patti, Junior Vice President and Minutes Secretary Sally Milne, Club Secretary Helen Burton, Treasurer Sue Reynolds, Club Correspondent Lucy Needham and International Service Officer Robyn House.
Other Committee members included Historian Rosemary Sloane, Social Convenor Maria Szabo and Committee members, Mavis Parker, Jill Soo and Bev Delaney.
The dinner was a delight, served by Catherine Cumberland and her team, and all were entertained with songs and poetry from local folk duo, Chloe and Jason Roweth.
Special guests included Blayney Shire Council General Manager Rebecca Ryan, newly inducted Rotary President Chris Sloane, Inner Wheel A50 District Chairman Maria Bargwanna and her husband Geoff, and Deb Higgs acting Health Services Manager Blayney Hospital.
IPP Patti Crofts presented a cheque to Deb to go towards the purchase of the new bladder scanning machine.
The raffle prize was a delightful lap quilt made by President Lyn, with an afternoon tea cup and plate set, all decorated with Parisian scenes, and was won by Blayney member Anne Hänseler.
A seemingly bottomless basket of lucky door prizes, donated by Club members, added to the fun.
The International Inner Wheel objectives are promoting true friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service, and fostering international understanding.
