Centre manager Paul Masters said that work had already begun on the renewal of the air heating system.
“The old heater has already been removed and next week they’ll begin work on removing the old blue monster that is the current ducting,” he said.
The new system will incorporate a flexible ducting system similar to the material used in inflatable castles, and it has one distinct advantage over the solid ducting system.
“The canvas style of ducting is a lot quieter than the solid ones, so that will make it better during swimming lessons and swim club,” he said.
The new ducting will effectively run above the edge of the pool, and when the heater is operational, keeping visitors in toasty conditions.
“The pool will be heated to 28 degrees and the air will be at 30 degrees,” Mr Masters said.
