It’s the opening event of the Blayney and villages Winter Wonderland and from 12pm on Saturday Newbridge will be alive with a street full of market stalls, both locals and visitors roaming around in full medieval garb and at 5pm the lighting of the wicker man.
Purchase a small wicker man, write your troubles on it and cast them away by tossing it into the flames.
It’s all part of the unique Winter Solstice Festival that is attracting more and more people who just love seeing something different happening in our villages.
There will be viking sword fights happening across the centre and the highlight, the torching of the wicker man.
And whilst you’re there check out the art gallery and the work going on inside the pub.
