From toilet blocks in Barry through to part one of the Belubula River Walk, round one of the Stronger Country Communities Fund will see a number of improvements to community facilities across the shire.

Prioritised by Blayney council and submitted in October of 2017, the list was developed by compiling separate smaller projects into generic projects.

Three public toilet destruction and rebuilds in Neville Memorial Park, Barry School Hall and Lyndhurst Recreation Ground have all been bundled together into the Blayney Shire Public Toilet Upgrade Project, which has received $139,500 in funding.

Mandurama Recreation Ground will have its old club house demolished and will they have a new 12 metre by 6 metre open shelter, on a concrete slab that has a walled section, water tank and benchtop/sink and seating constructed as part of the Recreation Ground Refurbishment Project worth $190,141.

Also included in that project is the replacement of the perimeter fence around Redmond Oval in Millthorpe and new fencing around Newbridge Showground.

Lyndhurst has done well out of this project and will have $194,659 spent there in the construction of a shared path that will link many of the burgeoning village’s assets.

The path will allow access from the centre of the village to the public school, run opposite the Lyndhurst memorial hall along Russart Street, then adjacent to the Mid-Western Highway and onto the bridge over Grubbenbum Creek. From the bridge it will run into the recreation grounds on Harrow Street.

The only project in Blayney township is stage one of the Belubula River Walk Project costing $310,052.
