This was one of the state’s most popular rides, revived several years ago by a few keen locals and the LERC club.
In 2015 it was the Snowy Zone Championships as a 100km event, and last year the club ran 80/40/20kms with fantastic support shown from all over the state.
This year it will be a training/introductory weekend to the sport of endurance, providing 40kms, 20kms and 10kms with start times from 1pm Saturday March 17 and 7am Sunday March 18, with the shorter distances staggered back to 9.30am.
The courses are safe and achievable, and novice horses have negotiated it well in the past. Beautiful shady pine forest trails with plenty of natural and supplied water and also plenty of green pick for the ponies as well as supplied lucerne hay on track.
Entry fees are $50 for the 40kms Trainer; and $35 for the 20kms and $25 for the 10kms social. Day membership to the NSW Endurance Riders Association are being provided/donated by our LERC club this year as incentive to newcomers!
A $5 camping fee will apply to all entries to pay for the grounds as they have good facilities with plenty of toilets and hot showers, as well as a lovely oval for our vetting and plenty of shade trees. There will be a canteen open all weekend on the grounds.
Directions will be signed from the highway out to Neville and the base is not far from the Hotel where participants may buy dinner as usual.
There will lovely specially designed LERC mugs denoting the rides of the district as a completion prize for those in the 40kms; and designer pens & bags for those who are successful in the socials.
The Lachlan Club will need assistance over the weekend if anyone can volunteer their services it would be amazing! Please contact Helen Lindsay on 63 429289 or Erica Allan 0409 395588.
Please nominate to Helen Lindsay at kintamaniarabs@bigpond.com (0427 429289).
