The two, along with Wellington’s Geena Purcell, were selected at judging in Blayney on Saturday.
Caitlin Herbert runs a dental education program providing presentations to rural schools on top of her career as a oral health therapist and working on the family farm near Eugowra, The Land reported after the judging.
Caitlin hopes that by participating in the Showgirl competition she can help highlight that local young women can get a good education and return to your hometown with a successful career, rather than relocate to the city.
She has a degree in oral health from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, and in her spare time enjoys cooking, farming and caring for her two Dalmatians.
Grace Allen is a registered nurse working at Orange Health Service in the emergency department.
Grace will undertake postgraduate studies this year to further her experience and specialisation in emergency healthcare.
When not at the hospital, she works as an active member of the Country Women’s Association and volunteers with a group of ladies to offer hairdressing services to residents of the Forbes Mater Aged Care.
Grace is also a regular helper on the family farm or can be found exploring farmers markets, wine tasting or meeting up with friends around the region.
Wellington Showgirl Geena Purcell is an accountant with Crowe Horwath in Wellington and is also keen to showcase the many career opportunities for rural women in rural Australia.
The zone 6 final was held at Blayney on Saturday and 18 Showgirls from across the region competed.
