The much anticipated grand opening will be held this Saturday, July 14 at O'Brien Wash & Go, 22 Radburn Street, Blayney. Blayney Shire Council Mayor, Bruce Kingham, will officially opening the new local business at 10:30am, with a BBQ from 10am-2pm and prizes and giveaways all day.
O'Brien Wash & Go business owner, Peter O'Brien, is encouraging the local community to come down on the day and test out the long awaited car and truck wash facility, with all services only a gold coin donation to Blayney Rotary.
"It has been a long while coming due to equipment delays and software upgrades however it now means that Blayney is home to the most technologically advanced car and truck wash facility in Australia at the moment," Peter said.
"The car wash and truck wash will not only provide a convenient, cost-effective service to residents, it will also be an environmentally friendly alternative to washing cars, bikes, caravans, small trucks, buses, semi-trailers and even dogs.
"It includes two car wash bays, two larger vehicle/truck wash bays, a semi bay and a dog wash. Other features include fragrance and vacuum bays with carpet shampooing options, vending machines with both food and car care options, Italian coffee machine, an ATM and the option of payment with credit card, coins or Wash & Go loyalty card," Peter said.
The stand-out feature of the car and truck wash facility is its unique semi wash bay. Peter saw a need for the service in NSW and investigated the best option for truck drivers both in the area and travelling through.
"Washing a semi can be difficult to reach all the dirt and grime, especially on the roof and under the vehicle, so I have installed an under carriage cleaner, side platforms and a moving vertical platform to ensure you can reach every angle of the semi," Peter said.
The two larger car wash bays also have side platforms to ensure everyone can provide a premium clean for their car, boat, caravan or bus.
O'Brien Wash & Go, located just off the Mid Western Highway, is the perfect location.
It offers customers a convenient facility to stop, revive, survive with coffee, food and drink vending machines and amenities include shower and toilet and a dedicated rest area.
Peter not only wanted to fill the gap on a valuable service to the local community, he also wanted to provide a way to give back to the local community.
He has developed Les' Wishing Wells, in memory of his late father Les O'Brien, an initiative designed to encourage the community to support local charities by using the facility.
Every time someone uses any of the services they receive a coupon to pledge their support to a local charity. The wishing well with the most coupons will win $2,000 towards that charity.
"I wanted to be able to show how appreciative I am of the local support and thank the community by giving back to local beneficiaries," Peter said.
O'Brien Wash & Go is conveniently opened 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and with constant security surveillance to ensures the safety and security of customers and their vehicles.
