About the Role:
We are currently looking for a driven Public Health Nurse to join our dedicated Health Services Team, being led by our new team of Senior Health Managers. Our focus is to build on your clinical confidence, and create an engaged workforce, with a work/family friendly balance and provide a supportive environment that covers clinical and best practices. You will be responsible for providing quality services to the Inmate population by being responsible for coordinating: public health clinical activities including implementation of the targeted screening program; and screening for/the management of communicable diseases, blood borne viruses (BBVs) and some sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
The Public Health Nurse falls in our Healthy Lifestyles stream of Health Services, and is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of vaccination programs; acts as a resource for public health issues to the rest of the staff; is the contact person for communicable disease outbreak identification and management; develops linkages with local Public Health Unit and participates in Public Health planning, education and communication forums. Education for patients and employees.
This is a Full-Time role Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
