During his talk Brian spoke about the value of biodiversity and used photographs to show the dramatic results which have been achieved sofar. Back then it was a weed and willow infested waterway. Today many of the saplings which were planted as tubestock on the southern side are now at head height. The area is also fast becoming a refuge for native animals with Sugar Gliders and other native animals being sighted. We look forward to the next stage which will see the rehabilitation of the riparian zone bordering the showground.

On Friday December 15 Shalom will be hosting a Christmas barbeque and, in the spirit of peace and goodwill, the good folk on the hill would like to extend an open invitation to all Carcoarians to attend.

It promises to be great night with a Greek themed menu (spit roasted lamb, Moussaka and Spanakopita), a Christmas pageant, music and fun. Festivities will kick off at 6pm. The trusteeship of the Carcoar School of Arts has now been gazetted by the Department of Lands and Property. The School of Arts Community Hall Carcoar Inc. are the new trustees.

The new body is currently looking at obtaining funding to undertake urgent repairs to the hall which has been a focus for community gatherings for well over a century. Members of the community are invited to join by emailing carcoarhall@hotmail.com

On November Blayney Shire Council invited members of the Carcoar community to come along and revisit the vision and projects for Carcoar. About 50 people attended the workshop and shared their thoughts on topics. Overall the general feeling was positive. The results of the meeting are currently being compiled by council and will be available in the new year.
