the rehabilitation of the Belubula River at Pound Flat in historic Carcoar - and the launch of REVIVE 2.
It is more than two years since the REVIVE project first began.
The area is now a pristine natural recreational area with native trees, shrubs, nesting boxes for birdlife and marsupials and walking trails ready for locals and visitors to enjoy.
To mark the occasion a community BBQ will be held at 12noon on November 25 in Kurt Fearnley Park.
After lunch there will be a guided walk and talk around the Pound Flat site.
Attendees are advised to wear enclosed shoes. RSVP: Nikki Smith 6368 2104 by today Thursday, November 23.
Picturing History
Three interpretive panels have recently been installed in the bus shelter in Kurt Fearnley Park.
Through words and images the panels will transport visitors and locals through Carcoar's rich history from early settlement through to more recent times.
The project, which aims to entice people to explore the town and visit the local museums, was one of the key items identified by the community on the 'Our Carcoar' wishlist.
Also included on the panels are 'cameos' of some of Carcoar's notable individuals who have pushed boundaries, including: Barnard Stimpson, the convict boy who became the town's first mayor; Selina Getty, one of Australia's earliest female pharmacists; and Kurt Fearnley, the wheelchair champion.
Thanks to Blayney Shire Council, The Carcoar Village Association and Sauce Design for making this project happen.
