The other bridges included in the program are Felltimber Road, Carcoar; Coombing Street, Carcoar; Gallymont Road, Mandurama; Errowanbang Road, Errowanbang and Dowsetts Lane; Hobbys Yards.
Blayney mayor Scott Ferguson said that once opened, that the new bridge, and complementary roadworks, would open up Newbridge to visitors.
“We’ve taken out a dangerous bend on the road and we’ve removed a hazardous one lane bridge with one that is made from pre-stressed concrete that’s able to carry oversized vehicles and will require little maintenance over a long period of time,” he said.
Cr Ferguson also said that despite the recent wet weather the bridge was on track to be re-opened by Christmas.
