Totalling over $1 million, the list includes the popular $272,000 skate park in Heritage Park, but excludes other high profile projects such as the Carcoar Sportsground renewal and enhancements to King George Oval.
As each project in the Stronger Communities Fund must have a minimum value of $100,000, projects like individual toilet blocks in Barry, Neville and Lyndhurst have all been bundled into the Blayney Shire Public Toilet Upgrade Project at a cost of $100,000.
Also bundled into one $191,000 project are three recreation ground refurbishments in Millthorpe, Mandurama and Newbridge.
The old club house at Mandurama recreation ground will be demolished and removed and replaced with a new public open shelter on a concrete slab with a water collection, benchtop/sink and an area for barbecues.
Redmond Oval in Millthorpe will have the old perimeter fence removed and replaced as will Newbridge Recreation Ground have its fencing around the inner field and grounds replaced.
At a cost of $220,000 the residents of Lyndhurst will no longer have to walk on dirt with the construction of footpaths along Russart street opposite the Lyndhurst Memorial Hall, from the village centre to the public school, a path adjacent to the Mid-Western highway, on to the bridge over Grubbenbun Creek and from the bridge into the recreation grounds on Harrow street.
In Blayney, apart form the skate park, the council’s Blayney Master Plan will come into play with the construction of Stage 1 of the Blayney to Belubula River Walk Project.
Costing $230,000 the river walk will eventually link Heritage Park to Dakers Oval along the Belubula River with stage 1 being between Dakers Oval and Newbridge Road.
Cr Ferguson said that some projects needed more planning and design work to get them shovel ready in time for the 2018/19 funding round.
“Unfortunately, some of the projects originally identified such as the Carcoar Sportsground and amenities block, Dakers Oval toilet block, King George Oval enhancements and the Neville Multipurpose Court need more work,” he said.
