Organiser Peggy Brown said that the town is bristling with excitement, and it’s not just because the pub has reopened.
“We’re having a working bee out here on Thursday and Friday ready for the opening on Saturday morning,” she said.
The show was cancelled in 2016 due to the overly wet conditions, that’s certainly not an issue this year.
The Australian Champion Fleece
The Australian Champion Fleece competition has been a cornerstone for the shows activities since 1984 when G Rayner from Wattle Flat won the first Australian Champion Fleece Trophy at the Trunkey Creek Show.
The Wool Competition also recognises Champion Ram Fleece, Champion Longwool Fleece, Champion Commercial Fleece, and Local Champion Fleece.
The winner of the Champion fleeces gains automatic right of entry into The Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The wool competition attracts many local sponsors including Bryton Wool, a major sponsor of the Australian Champion Fleece, Watson Tractors, Ray White, Emms Mooney & Co Blayney, Town and Country Rural Supplies, Silmac Agricultural Supplies, C & S Friend, W & M Marmiom
