Club president Craig Gosewisch said that the two forfeits and a bye hasn’t been ideal for the club as they come into the finals, but there is one advantage to it, few injuries.
“There are one or two of them that have a cloud over them, but essentially we’re at full strength,” he said.
Gosewisch believes that the most likely scenario, after this Saturday’s match between Cootamundra and Grenfell, is a Cootamundra – Blayney clash in the major semi-final.
“Temora and Grenfell are the other two in the running, but I’m pretty sure that this year it will be a re-run of last year’s final here at King George,” he said.
To get to that though the Ram’s will need to win at home at King George on Saturday August 26 as the winner of that match gets a home team final.
With only one loss for the season, a match against Yeoval that Gosewisch calls an aberration, the club’s form sees another cup being held aloft as close to a sure thing.
“The only other time we played Cootamundra was earlier on in the season and we beat them 36-24,” he said.
Gosewisch said that the sides strength lies in its ability to adapt.
“We have a few blokes that can play in a few different positions so our versatility is something that plays in our favour.
“And our game plan really suits that type of play,” he said.
