Whether it's a dad that coaches his local junior team, helps the local sports club with funding or support, or simply plays competitive sport on the weekend, now is the chance to highlight a father who's an inspiration to your local sports club and community.
Blayney under 10’s coach James McCann said that he gets involved because all three of his sons love playing footy.
“It started out three years ago because they had no one else to coach them and we all really do enjoy it,” he said.
Orange-born Cronulla and NSW five-eighth James Maloney was a finalist last year, before Australian batsman David Warner ended up winning.
To get involved, people simply need to go to sportsdads.com.au/community and explain in 100 words or less why they think their chosen sports dad should be crowned the 2017 Community Sports Dad of the Year.
