What is your strongest memory of your childhood home?
The memory I have of my childhood [at home] is when my grandfather bought me an electric motorcycle for Christmas. I was so excited; I was on that thing 24 hours a day. I loved it.
What do you recall about buying your first home?
It was the best feeling in the world. I had been working towards the goal to have my own place by the time I was 22 years old. I bought a property in Caringbah (in Sydney's southern suburbs) and I felt like I was on top of the world. All the hard work I had done was starting to pay off.
Have you ever house-shared with flat mates?
No, I haven't. I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by family. However, I have had plenty of experience living alone in different states as I've toured with Dirty Dancing and now My Fair Lady.

Can you share any tips for organising your home?
All I can say is that I am neat! I believe preparation is everything in life. I knew straight away what I wanted to change with my property and how I wanted to give it a nice facelift. Always have a plan of what you want. Research lots of ideas about what you can do to make it work for you.
Do you have a favourite room?
I have to say, I don't have a favourite room. There is something about each of the spaces in my home that speak to me ??? it's very homely. It's also close to everything and convenient.
What's the best household item you own?
This might be a strange thing to choose, but I would have to say my down lights. I have a dozen of them in my place and it really brightens the room and at the same time I can create the ambience that I like.
Do you enjoy gardening?
Where I live there's not much of a garden, so I don't really have much to do. But this is a good thing for me at the moment because I'm always on the road. Touring and gardening is a lot of maintenance, you need to have time to do gardening and at the moment that is luxury I don't have.
If you could live in a dream house, anywhere in the world, where would it be?
There are two places I would love to live, both are completely different. Bel Air in Los Angeles and Cronulla in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney. Either of those would be a dream come true for me.
Tenor Mark Vincent has announced a new tour with performances scheduled for Brisbane's QPAC Concert Hall on October 29, Sydney's State Theatre on November 9 and the Arts Centre, Hamer Hall, in Melbourne on November 12.
