Orange’s Charlotte Haling and Courtney Currie are joined in the NSW Country squad, announced following the championship, by Taneka Todhunter, Jakiya Whitfield and Chantae Eyre.
The quintet helped Central West to fourth overall and while they were all obviously standouts, the side’s head coach Kieran Smith also highlighted Narromine’s Lakeisha Hull as excellent. He did mention all 14 of the squad were strong though, saying they improved every time they took the field.
“It was a great chance to put all our training out there. It was difficult to adapt to the structure of 10-a-side rugby but the girls improved in every game,” he said.

Whitfield, a member of the Australian Youth Development Squad, was also named best back of the tournament.
After the team’s success, Central West Junior Rugby Union would like to encourage all girls to join them at a Come Try Rugby day, on Sunday, May 28 from 9:30am at Pride Park.
