The Blayney women’s hockey side has expanded in numbers for 2017 with an influx of young players that manager/coach Gerry Hunter says are showing great promise.

“We have about 18 at the moment and there has been a lot of players coming across from the netball because they’re running the twilight series now rather than during the winter,” she said.
A high school hockey side has also increased the numbers migrating across to the third division side.
“We decided to drop down to third grade this year because of the new players, but next year we will look at moving back up again,” she said.
Blayney will be facing up against the Waratah Blues this Sunday at 10am.
