Blayney Council is now the proud owner of a sculpture titled ‘Stumped’ by Orange based sculptor Peter Worsley.

Mr Worsley created the scupture, complete with the designated four-leafed clover motif, in his gigantic shed near March, just north of Orange.
Due to a rugby union accident in 1987, Mr Worsley is a quadriplegic and uses a gantry and his own custom made tools to create the works.
Selected by Blayney Shire’s Citizen of the Year, Betty McKenzie and Councillor David Somervaille, the work fitted the criteria perfectly.
“There are no real guidelines set down by council other than the work has to come from a local artist, be relevant to the Blayney community and accessible to the public, seeing as they paid for it,” Cr Somervaille said.
The piece’s cricket theme seems to have struck a chord though and Mr Worsley was ecstatic that his sculpture had been chosen.
“This is the first competition I’ve ever entered and I was really only hoping that mine didn’t look like some gigantic kindergarten project,” he said.
