The Western Rams under 16 side is having a cracking season and Blayney’s Dylan Marmion has been playing a pivotal role in the team’s success.
In last weekend’s match against the Southern Redbacks in Camden, Marmion racked up two tries to drag the team from behind, and eventually win the game 34-30.
“We were down 12-nil at half-time and for the first try we were running one of our backline plays and it came to me and I managed to score in the corner,” he said.
They drew against the team we beat last weekend, so if we beat them we’ll be at the top.
This weekend the side will be tested when they come up against last year’s premiers, the Bidgee Bulls in Parkes.
The side have all but secured a semi-final berth, but need to defeat arch rivals Bidgee Bulls in the final preliminary round games in Parkes on Saturday to earn the top ranking in the Southern pools.
“They drew against the team we beat last weekend, so if we beat them this weekend we’ll be at the top of the ladder,” he said.
