Mr Mattick, known to his mates as ‘Damo’, was a motorbike enthusiast who rode both road bikes and motorcross.
Concerned family and friends first raised the alarm on Saturday that Mr Mattick was missing, sharing photos and posts on social media which explained that his crashed Honda CBR600 had struck a guard rail on Millthorpe Road near Blayney.
Several searches at and near the scene failed to uncover his whereabouts.
But at about 8.30am on Sunday officers from Chifley Local Area Command found the body of Mr Mattick at the scene.
In the past 24 hours tributes for Mr Mattick have flooded social media sites.
“RIP Damo. You were one of the good guys, you'll be missed,” Agnieszka-Geisha Maksacheff wrote on the Central Western Daily Facebook page.
“RIP, mate, you'll never be forgotten,” Katrina Chatman commented on the same post.
“My heart goes out to this poor guy and his family. Words cannot express what you must all be feeling. My prayers to you all, may he RIP,” Mel Mk commented on Facebook.
A Gofundme account has been established to assist the Mattick family, with $520 of the $5000 goal raised as of Monday morning.
