The transition from being a one night event to a weekend festival has allowed the organisers to introduce new activities that include workshops, artisan markets, musical performances and a gallery art trail to cater to all art lovers.
Curator Penny May said that the art festival’s celebration of art in its many shapes, sizes, textures and mediums is what makes the event so appealing and unique.
“We are inviting everyone to come along to connect, collaborate, celebrate and indulge in all art forms from oil paintings to water colours, tapestry to embroidery, montage to collage, mosaic to pottery, video animation and sculptures and everything in between,” she said.
The festival is rapidly becoming a launching pad for young and upcoming artists that are looking for somewhere to show their works.
“A lot of artists are solitary people who work on their own in their studio and they don’t get many opportunities to get a comparative perspective with other artists,” said Carcoar Pottery’s, Louise Purcell. “It’s an enriching thing to have conversations with other artists.”
With over 30 entries already submitted, the artists are excited about seeing how artists interpret the four-leaf clover motif, especially the entries from San Francisco.
“There are two of them and they’re quite interesting,” said organiser Loretta Kervin.
