Nearly fifty members and guests enjoyed fellowship and Christmas lunch at the December 2016 meeting which was held at the Royal Hotel.
With no Probus meeting in January, we have been able to celebrate Christmas, New Year and Australia Day with our own family and friends.
Congratulations to the worthy recipients of recognition in Australia Day awards and thank you for your contributions over many years which help to make Blayney and Australia such a wonderful place to live.
For your diary, the meeting on 16 March 2017 will include the Annual General Meeting followed by the Changeover Dinner. Numbers are required at February meeting for catering.
Nominations are required at the February meeting, with voting at the March AGM, for office bearers and positions on the 2017-18 Management Committee.
Many interesting guest speakers and activities are planned for the year ahead. All members and guests are encouraged to join in the activities of your Club and your suggestions of topics or activities which interest you or your mates should be given at the meeting.
Our major trip for the year will be to the Merimbula / Sapphire Coast area in October. Names, numbers and initial deposits are required by the March meeting to confirm bookings. Please consider your participation now and advise secretary Lynette Cubbit.
We have finally reached our wonder years – wonder where my glasses are, wonder where I parked the car, wonder what day it is. As we start this new year, it is worth reminding members and hopefully encourage others what Probus is all about and how it can benefit our lives in Blayney.
Probus is an association for active members of the community who are no longer working full time, to join together in clubs for a new lease of life.
Next meeting – Blayney Uniting Church hall at 10 am on Thursday 16 February.
