To target growth of the sport in the town, and to better use resources to attract more social and competitive players, the junior and senior clubs merged in October.
Club secretary and publicity officer Tanya Tyrrell said that the club could now concentrate on one simple strategy, growth.
“We now have only one set of fees that we need to pay Tennis Australia, and only one committee,” she said, “This stops all sorts of doubling up and will allow us to really promote and organise the club.”
With 70 members, of all ages, Tyrrell said that the club is now pushing for better facilities.
“We’ll be upgrading some of the facilities at the club and resurfacing some of the tennis courts,” she said.
The merger has allowed the club to also concentrate on player development with a junior development series set for April and the club championships in March.
The club will be holding its Christmas party and junior presentations on Monday the 19th of December.
