After 15 years as our local publican Ross Townsend is bidding farewell to The Royal Hotel and is heading into retirement. Ross' father bought the pub back in 1970 and, after working as a mechanic in Blayney for a number of years, Ross took over the management in 2001. Ross has seen many changes in the hotel industry over the years but one of the highlights during that time was when the Royal was awarded “two schooners” in the SMH best food guide. We wish both Ross and Cheryl all the best in their retirement.
