The Tiger’s stunning start to the 2016 Group 10 season is threatening to implode following a dispute between coach Zac Rowlandson and gun five-eighth Matt Rose.
Tensions flared during the club’s 26-all draw with Mudgee a fortnight ago, with the pair’s difference of opinion regarding the Tigers’ game plan, particularly in attack, the catalyst for the mid-season dispute.
The rift comes after the Tigers sensationally kicked off the season with seven wins in a row to lead the competition.
The black and golds have won just two of their last six games: good news for the Bears ahead of the weekend’s pivotal clash at King George Oval.
The Bears are coming off a loss to high-flying Bathurst St Pat’s, who were butressed in Saturday’s game by the inclusion of former Kangaroo Mark O’Meley.
The Bears are currently in sixth place on 14 points, one win adrift of the Dragons in the chase for the fifth-and-last semi-final berth.
Blayney’s first division team is in a similar position, finding themselves in sixth position, a solitary point outside the top five.
The league tag girls are all-but certain to play finals having entrenched themselves in third.
