Council staff inspected fields yesterday morning and ruled out any use until at least Friday, July 1.
"Playing on fields that are wet causes major damage that can force fields to be closed for long periods of time," a council spokesperson said.
"Closing wet fields prevents this damage and ensures that fields can be used more over the long term. Wet and damaged fields also present safety issues for some sports.
"The use of machinery for any preparation works on these fields would also be detrimental to the ground and further delay any return to normal use."
The spokesperson said council "seeks the understanding and patience of the community and sporting groups".
A review of conditions will be undertaken and a further update provided next Friday.
