A decision was made on Thursday to close the boom gates as a precaution.
An inspection will be held on Friday to reassess the situation and determine whether the roads can be reopened.
Cabonne Council spokesman Dale Jones said the closure would ensure motorists were not at risk of an accident or being stranded on the mountain overnight.
“Council’s priority is the safety of road users,” he said.
“We will endeavour to ensure the roads are open should conditions allow it. However, if snow or ice makes conditions dangerous, the boom gates on the access roads will stay closed.”
Mr Jones reminded drivers it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
